Voices of The Revolution Hoodie

Voices of The Revolution Hoodie

Inspired by the Haitian Revolution & “The Black Jacobins Toussaint L’Ouveture and the San Domingo” by CLR James. This hoodie was designed to showcase some of the leading voices of the revolution leading to Haiti’s Independence.

Inspired by the book I wrote a script called Voices of the revolution. After initial drafts a vision came to me and I began creating an art piece. It unfolded as the artwork we see for the hoodie now.

I call this Ancestral Drip because it became a way for me to honor my ancestors and bring forward their stories to the consciousness of my Self and others. The history I read deepened my roots and understanding of my heritage, history, and ancestral self. This freed me and is freeing in ways I can’t fathom. I pray it does the same for you, beyond. May you know and learn of the strength, spirit, and love that is imbued in Haitian People and what was done so we could live the way we do today and may that revolutionary spirit unfold in you.
